About us
Lion Defence Team ry – We are a ~60 persons strong team of volunteers from Finland mostly. We support Ukraine's defence by providing training and material aid for the defenders and the medical service. Our activities are carried out on voluntary basis, completely free of charge.
Our team was founded in the Fall of 2022. However, our first volunteer and one of our founding member has been at it from early March 2022, shortly after the large scale assault on Ukraine began.
Together with our local partners we have a vast network and trust within Ukraine. This helps us find and reach the units that are in most need of support. And that is key to us: we always want to bring the aid where it is absolutely needed the most.

Support our work
You can always support our work by making a donation. We do not pay salaries, per diems or anything similar. We use the collected funds to cover the necessary costs of our training and aid work. We run our fundraisers under an official permit by the National Police Board of Finland. Our permit number is: RA/2023/1562.

Who funds your activities?
The people who care about what is happening in Ukraine right now. And since you've ended up on our website, it's people like you and me! We have not received government grants or any other benefits like that. We are a non-profit organisation. We work on our own initiative and we are not affiliated to any governments or military formations.
About collected funds and transparency
Our non-profit organisation – Lion Defence Team ry – is registered in Finland with the ID 3333376-8. The Finnish law mandates that organisations seeking to collect funds from the public must have a permit. Ours is RA/2023/1562. We are required to file our accounts to the National Police Board annually.
